About Us

Originally part of the Carolinas/Virginias association which was formed in the 1920's, BOMA Virginia was founded in 1991 when a core group of commercial real estate professionals made the crucial decision to branch out on their own.

Today BOMA Virginia provides support and information to the commercial real estate industry in Hampton Roads and Richmond. Membership includes building owners, managers, developers, facility managers and various suppliers to the industry.

BOMA Virginia is located in the Southern Region. The Southern Region represents 17 associations located in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky.

BOMA Virginia is federated with BOMA International. Founded in 1907, the Building Owners and Managers Association International is a dynamic federation of 92 local associations throughout the United States and eleven international affiliates in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Philippines, Russia and South Africa. BOMA’s 17,000 plus members own or manage more than 9 billion square fee of commercial properties in North America.

Throughout BOMA International’s long history, its goal has always focused on actively and responsibly representing and promoting the interests of the commercial real estate industry through effective leadership and advocacy, through the collection, analysis and dissemination of information, and through professional development.
